Which Programming Language Should You Learn In 2022?

With the sheer number of programming languages out there, knowing which one you should start with can be confusing, especially if you’re just beginning to learn to code. Should you go with the language that’s easiest to learn? The most popular? The best for beginners? This article takes a look at each of these questions and offers suggestions on what might be the best programming language to learn in 2022—and why.

Introduction

The Importance Of Learning How To Program Computers

I’ve been doing a lot of research on what languages are trending or will be trending in 2022 and have come up with these five: Swift, Kotlin, Rust, Python, and R. Of course, this is just my opinion, but I hope it helps you on your journey!

  1. Swift was developed by Apple in 2014 as a replacement for Objective-C and is one of the most popular programming languages among high school students according to Code School’s 2016 survey.
  2.  Kotlin was developed by Jet Brains in 2010 and is designed to run on Android platforms that use Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
  3.  Rust was created by Mozilla Foundation in 2006 and is known for its performance because it can handle very large amounts of data without running out of memory like other languages might do.
  4. Python has been around since 1989, making it the second-oldest language on this list after C++, but don’t let its age fool you–it’s still considered one of the best programming languages to learn today due to its versatility and easy syntax.

The Case For JavaScript

The Case For Javascript

A popular programming language today is JavaScript. It is a crucial component for just about every website. With JavaScript, developers can create a modern web app or even an entire website with HTML and CSS. In addition, JavaScript has become increasingly important for non-web applications as well. The ubiquity of JS has made it a highly-sought after skill in today’s job market, so learning how to use it effectively will give you a boost when it comes time to make your first hiring decisions.

One thing to be aware of is that JavaScript will likely not be the best language to start out with if you are completely new to coding. While JavaScript is easy enough for beginners to learn at their own pace, understanding all its intricacies takes years (and sometimes even decades) of practice.

Which Should You Choose: JavaScript, Python, C++, Ruby, Or Go

Which Should You Choose: Javascript, Python, C , Ruby, Or Go

While there are many languages that can be used for a variety of tasks, it’s important to pick a language that you will enjoy working with and use regularly. Most developers are familiar with C++ or Java. However, Ruby is simpler and Python may be faster on some tasks. A good way to determine which language is best for you is by considering your work environment. JavaScript might be more desirable if you’re using web-based technologies while Python might work better if you’re doing data analysis and looking at scientific code.

If you’re not sure what language to learn, look into learning one from this list: Python, Ruby, Go or Scala. All these languages have lots of similarities, but each has its own benefits. Python has been around since 1991 and is considered an easier language to get started with than other options like C++ or Java. It has a wider array of libraries that support everything from audio playback to cloud computing services. Ruby was developed in 1995 as an object-oriented programming language that allows programmers to write less code than they would need in other languages like Java or C++.

That said, it’s also possible for programmers who use different languages such as Perl or Haskell to adapt their knowledge when switching over to Ruby. The biggest advantage of both Python and Ruby is how intuitive they are, so either option would work well for those new to programming!

The Importance Of Learning How To Program Computers

It is difficult to predict the importance of programming languages 10 years from now. Different circumstances could change what is popular and what people are using. It will be even more difficult than predicting which players will make it through the NFL draft this year. I can confidently say that there’s no better time than right now to start learning how to program computers.

The sooner you learn, the easier it will be for you to adapt and keep up as the industry changes. That way, you’ll always have an edge over your peers who haven’t been exposed to these new technologies yet. But don’t just take my word for it: Companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and Facebook hire lots of programmers every year. Do you think they would recruit someone without a good understanding of technology?

Conclusion

When it comes to picking a programming language, there is not a one-size-fits-all answer. Your choice should depend on the types of things you want to do and your current skill level. Once you’ve narrowed down which languages may work for you, then research the pros and cons of each one before choosing what’s best for you. Coding skills are expected to be more and more valuable over time, so now is the perfect time to invest! The most popular languages will change throughout the years, but whatever language you choose today will still be helpful even 20 years from now.
